When a hotel has its own observation deck, luxury mall, celebrity restaurants, and the world’s most famous infinity pool, you know you’re not booking an ordinary stay. We experienced Marina Bay Sands from every angle: floating above the city in the iconic rooftop pool, relaxing in a balcony suite overlooking Gardens by the Bay, and admiring its futuristic silhouette from the waterfront and Merlion Park. By the end of our stay, we understood why millions of visitors flock here each year. Marina Bay Sands isn’t just a hotel, it’s the view, the attraction, and in many ways, the symbol of modern Singapore itself.
💡 Tips
- 🧳 Marina Bay Sands (MBS) pre-check: Drop bags and pre-check in the morning since this can unlock early pool access and sometimes an early room (ours was ready by noon).
- 🏊♂️ MBS Rooftop Infinity Pool: If you’re staying at the hotel, visit at both sunrise and sunset for two completely different experiences. Not a guest? You can still enjoy the famous rooftop views by purchasing a ticket to the SkyPark Observation Deck or by dining at one of the rooftop restaurants such as CE LA VI.
- 🍸 CE LA VI: For more than just drinks and views, reserve the restaurant instead of the SkyBar and request an outdoor table. Note the smart casual dress code, ~SGD $50 min spend per person, and 24-hour cancellation policy. We also had success with gluten-free accommodation.
- 🎆 Marina Bay Waterfront: For the classic MBS skyline shot, walk along the waterfront near Merlion Park and Jubilee Bridge.
- 🧜♀️ Merlion Park: This is one of the best locations for skyline photos of MBS, but expect large crowds throughout the day. Early morning should offer the lightest crowds, while evening provides the most dramatic skyline views.
- 🛍️ Shoppes: Access The Shoppes directly from MBS via the underground mall level, but don’t rush over first thing in the morning. Most stores and the Rain Oculus don’t come alive until 10 AM, making it a better late-morning stop after breakfast or the infinity pool.
🏨 MBS Balcony Suite
Step inside our Marina Bay Sands balcony suite (22999 – Tower 2, Floor 29, Room 99) and see what makes this one of the most iconic hotels in the world. From insane views of Singapore’s skyline and Gardens by the Bay to complimentary TWG tea, luxurious details, and access to the legendary infinity pool, this was a bucket-list stay!

🏊♂️ MBS Rooftop Infinity Pool
Perched 57 stories above the city, the infinity pool has become one of the most recognizable pools in the world, offering panoramic views that make anyone feel a little crazy rich. Come along for a 360° tour in the rooftop pool with stunning views of Singapore’s skyline. And yes, the synchronized swimming move at the end is a little nod to the unforgettable engagement celebration scene from Crazy Rich Asians.

🧜♀️ MBS from Waterfront and Merlion
For one of the best views in Singapore, head to Merlion Park and the nearby waterfront promenade, where MBS dominates the skyline across the bay. While the crowds can be intense, the iconic Merlion and panoramic city views make this one of Singapore’s top photo spots. Visit during the day for postcard-worthy skyline shots or after dark when MBS lights up and reflects across the water. For an even more memorable experience, walk across the Helix Bridge toward MBS and Gardens by the Bay, especially around sunset when the golden light creates a stunning backdrop for the skyline.
🌳 MBS from Gardens by the Bay
Some of the best views of MBS aren’t from the hotel itself, but from across the gardens. Stroll along the Dragonfly Bridge for postcard-worthy views of the iconic towers rising above the waterfront, then head up to the OCBC Skyway for a unique perspective with MBS framed by the Supertrees. After sunset, the skyline becomes even more spectacular as MBS lights up behind the illuminated gardens during the Garden Rhapsody show, creating one of Singapore’s most iconic and photogenic scenes.

🍸 CE LA VI Rooftop Restaurant & SkyBar
Perched atop MBS, CE LA VI offers two distinct experiences sharing the same spectacular skyline views. The SkyBar is geared toward cocktails, music, and a lively nightlife atmosphere, while the restaurant provides a more relaxed setting with a full dinner menu and reserved seating. We chose the restaurant and requested an outdoor table, which gave us uninterrupted views of Singapore’s skyline without having to compete for space at the bar. It also turned out to be a great place to watch the Garden Rhapsody light show at Supertree Grove, with the illuminated Supertrees glowing in the distance while the city sparkled below. If you’re looking to combine great food, rooftop views, and one of Singapore’s most iconic nighttime experiences, the restaurant is hard to beat.
