Ballpark Review: AT&T Park (San Francisco Giants)

Going in we knew we’d love AT&T Park based on what we’ve seen on TV and rave reviews from friends and family. This stadium is in a superb location, right in downtown San Fran with a remarkable view of the bay. It was easy to get sucked into the “Beat LA” chants as the Giants fans were beyond enthusiastic as they cheered their team to a resounding victory. There were many unique amenities for both kids and adults (slides, cable cars, and even a garden), and the concessions – which served fresh seafood and CA wines – were remarkable! A flock of seagulls took over the stadium immediately after the fans ran away, which was a really fun surprise. Our overall experience at AT&T Park was one of sheer enjoyment and places this stadium as one of our favorites to date.

Our Cardinals Baseball Wedding!

We’re lifelong Cardinals fans—met at a game, got engaged at Busch Stadium, and naturally had a Cardinals-themed wedding! Planning a baseball-inspired wedding was an absolute blast and brought a whole new level of fun to the process. I pulled it all off pre-Pinterest (imagine that!), but now that I’m fully immersed in the world of pinning, I wanted to share all my ideas so other baseball-loving brides can knock their wedding out of the park.

MLB Ballpark Reviews: Rankings at Half-Way

We have reached the half-way mark of our journey to visit all the MLB baseball stadiums! Since we’ve hit a major milestone, we thought it was time to give an update on our current rankings of the ballparks we have visited. Right now we’ve decided to omit Busch Stadium from our rankings since we are obviously biased, and we’d like to leave you all in suspense. 😉 Without further ado…

Ballpark Review: Angel Stadium of Anaheim

Nestled just five miles from Disneyland in Anaheim, Angel Stadium is a rare blend of historic pedigree and modern flair – the fourth-oldest active MLB park, yet transformed by a 1997 renovation that opened up its outfield views, added twin oversized Angels caps, and unveiled the show-stopping California Spectacular (erupting geysers and waterfalls cascading down a rocky slope). Inside, the food scene impresses with outfield favorites like Chronic Tacos and the “Nacho Mama” bar, alongside Smoke Ring BBQ Express and Jersey Mike’s. Fans can kick back on the Centerfield Waterfall Patio (just don’t count on full sightlines). Of the three SoCal stadiums we visited, Angel Stadium was in the middle of the pac – not as nice as the Padres’ Petco Park, but far superior to Dodger Stadium.

Guarding Your Garden Against Excessive Water

Missouri has seen a record amount of rain this year. This seems great since watering the garden became unnecessary, but too much water can have some major effects on your garden. Many people, including myself, love growing tomatoes and peppers, and these two seemed to be significantly affected (by microbial diseases) due to the overabundance of water. For minor issues, there are some useful techniques that can be utilized to try to recover your garden, like removing diseased areas and applying treatments. There are many preventative measures, such as site selection and monitoring, that should be used to ensure your garden strives despite abnormal rainfall. Let’s look at the symptoms and solutions in more depth.

Ballpark Review: Dodger Stadium (Los Angeles)

While on a trip to southern California, we hit up several of the ballparks. Dodgers Stadium was last on our tour and unfortunately the best definitely wasn’t last. The mountain view was beautiful but the stadium design, food and amenities weren’t great. It is an old stadium and was neat to see, but this also is a major fault that made it not very enjoyable to take in everything the stadium had to offer.
