We love baseball and Star Wars so dressing as punny versions of our favorite Cardinals players was awesome!
Darth Bader
For the cape, I bought the black material from Joann fabric, and added a chain to hold the cape on. I created the Bader letters and number with vinyl on my Cricut Maker. The Darth Vader belt I created from some of Scott’s old Nintendo video game cartridges and attached various repurposed/painted items (push pins, batteries, foam, button). I cut out the middle piece with silver vinyl on my Cricut. I put elastic on the backs and inserted them through a normal black belt. I created the Darth armor with EVA foam, spray painted, and attached to the black belt. I already had a Cards jersey, Cards batting hat, batting gloves, black undershirt, and black tights that worked great with the costume. I found some black boots and the Darth Vader mask at Goodwill, and got the light sabers from Target. The last touch was to curl all my hair to look like HAIRison Bader.
Yoda Molina
I painted some elf ears green and glued them to a headband for Yoda’s iconic ears. Scott wore his Molina jersey and authentic Cards pants (Joe Kelly game-used). Painting Yoda’s face and drawing on Yadi’s tattoos was a fun challenge! I curled Scott’s hair and tried to make it white like Yadi’s; it turned out a little grey. I created Yoda’s feet out of old green towels and used elastic to attach over his shoes. I hand colored toe nails and glued them on.
Yoda & Darth
The light saber fights were a blast!
The green screen cut out Scott’s face and light saber. Looks like Darth won the fight 😉
