I’ve only utilized PLA filament to-date and decided to master ABS. It prints at a lot hotter extruder and bed temps and doesn’t adhere well to glass. After a few trial runs, I was able to finally get a nice print!
Mother’s Day is coming up so I thought I’d try printing a “MOM” Gimbal with a heart. I bought a cheap ABS assorted color filament fun pack, which I’d intended to utilize to make different colored Easter eggs. The pink worked great for the Gimbal. In my first few attempts, the ABS would come off the plate after about 10% printing. I increased my bed temp from 80 C to 100 C, but it still wouldn’t stick to the bed. After a bit of research, I found recommendations to utilize glue stick on the bed. After glue application in two directions along the bed where I’d be printing, I heated the bed to 80 C to ensure the glue dried before starting my print. This did the trick!
