As Game of Thrones fans, Dubrovnik has been on our bucket list for years, and it lived up to the hype. Our tour guide was an extra in many scenes and we saw a ton of filming locations, including many from King’s Landing and a few outside the city such as Oberyn’s duel arena and the Tyrell gardens. We also explored on our own a bit, including walking the entire length of the city walls and getting phenomenal views of the city and Fort Lovrjenac. City Walls

The views from the City Walls were breathtaking!

Fort Lovrjenac (Red Keep)

We climbed the stairs of Fort Lovrijenac and took in the magnificent views of the Old City, standing in the very spots where multiple iconic scenes were filmed – Joffrey’s Nameday Tournament, Tyrion slapping Joffrey, Sansa being saved by the Hound, the intense “Power is Power” dialogue, the Purple Wedding, and Euron’s dramatic arrival at Blackwater Bay.

Docks of King’s Landing

Just seconds from the Pile Gate, in a hidden corner of the city, we stopped at the Docks of King’s Landing where the final reunion and farewell of the Starks happened. This is also where Myrcella was sent away to Dorne and later returned, the spot where King Robert Baratheon’s bastard child was killed, and where Sansa stood, torn over whether to escape with Littlefinger.

Gates of King’s Landing, Littlefinger’s Brothel and Old City

We entered the city through the same gates Jaime had used upon his return home and strolled down the street where the rebellion against Joffrey had erupted, including when he had poo thrown at him. Winding through the narrow streets of the Old City, we also stopped at Littlefinger’s brothel.

On our own, we visited the location for the “House of the Undying” and walked in circles searching for the entrance. We posed with the Tyrion statue and petted all the cute cats we saw.

Jesuit Staircase (Walk of Shame – Sept of Baelor) and Prop Play

The tour provided a bell and of course we reenacted the iconic Walk of Shame down the Jesuit staircase. They also provided GoT props, which we of course posed with them all.

The Viper and the Mountain Duel Arena

Visited the location where the trial by combat between Oberyn Martell and Mountain took place.

King’s Road

Drove up to Bosanka and found the King’s Road where Tyrion was waiting for Oberyn and where Jaime said goodbye to Brienne.

Srdj Hill – City Overlook

The views of the city from Srdj Hill were phenomenal.

Trsteno Arboretum – Tyrell Gardens

We strolled through the gorgeous Trsteno Arboretum stopping at where Oberyn had written letters to his daughters and followed the path where he and Cersei had walked. We sat at the fountain where Loras and Sansa discussed their upcoming marriage, then stepped into the hidden corner of the gardens to take the necklace from Ser Dontos. Finally, we soaked in the breathtaking views from the pavilion where Olenna Tyrell held her secret meetings.

Trsteno Harbour – Jaime Practice Arena and Sansa Escape

Headed down to the seaside and discovered the hidden terrace where Jaime had trained his left-hand fighting skills with Bronn. Just a few minutes away, we stood in the spot where Sansa made her daring escape from King’s Landing.
