Ballpark Review: Minute Maid Park (Houston Astros)

We finally had the opportunity to visit Minute Maid Park, the home of our old Central division rivals, the Houston Astros. We visited this stadium with family after a fun Caribbean cruise while visiting my sister that now lives in Houston. We really appreciated the closed roof in humid Houston, which still provided a decent view of the Houston skyline through glass panels on the left field side. The abundance of local concession options (tacos, BBQ, breweries) was a huge plus. The overall atmosphere was energetic as fans rooted on their major league record leading team. Overall, we had a great experience and hope to see the Astros finally win a World Series this year – as long as it’s not against the Cardinals that is.

Ballpark Review: Fenway Park (Boston Red Sox)

Our experience at Fenway was a long but memorable one. We started early with a tour, lucked into getting to go onto the field to take selfies with the players, and then experienced a remarkable 11-inning Big Papi walk-off victory. A historical stadium capped with an amazing game showcasing Big Papi made this one ballpark visit we won’t forget.

Ballpark Review: AT&T Park (San Fanscisco Giants)

Going in we knew we’d love AT&T Park based on what we’ve seen on TV and rave reviews from friends and family. This stadium is in a superb location, right in downtown San Fran with a remarkable view of the bay. It was easy to get sucked into the “Beat LA” chants as the Giants fans were beyond enthusiastic as they cheered their team to a resounding victory. There were many unique amenities for both kids and adults (slides, cable cars, and even a garden), and the concessions—which served fresh seafood and CA wines—were remarkable! A flock of seagulls took over the stadium immediately after the fans ran away, which was a really fun surprise. Our overall experience at AT&T Park was one of sheer enjoyment and places this stadium as one of our favorites to date.

Our Cardinals Baseball Wedding!

We are both life-long Cardinals fans, met at a Cardinals game and got engaged at Busch. So of course we had a Cardinals-themed wedding! Having a baseball-themed wedding was so fun and took wedding planning to a whole new level! I did all this pre-Pinterest so now that I’m a Pinterester I thought I’d share all my ideas so many more brides can make their baseball-themed wedding come true.

MLB Ballpark Reviews: Rankings at Half-Way

We have reached the half-way mark of our journey to visit all the MLB baseball stadiums! Since we’ve hit a major milestone, we thought it was time to give an update on our current rankings of the ballparks we have visited. Right now we’ve decided to omit Busch Stadium from our rankings since we are obviously biased, and we’d like to leave you all in suspense. 😉 Without further ado…

Ballpark Review: Angel Stadium of Anaheim

A rare breed of historic yet modern, Angel Stadium is the fourth-oldest active MLB stadium but features modern amenities and memorable monuments. Of the three SoCal stadiums we visited, Angel Stadium of Anaheim was in the middle of the pack—not as nice as the Padres’ Petco Park, but far superior to Dodger Stadium.

Ballpark Review: Dodger Stadium (Los Angeles)

While on a trip to southern California, we hit up several of the ballparks. Dodgers Stadium was last on our tour and unfortunately the best definitely wasn’t last. The mountain view was beautiful but the stadium design, food and amenities weren’t great. It is an old stadium and was neat to see, but this also is a major fault that made it not very enjoyable to take in everything the stadium had to offer.
